I Want a Truck Because It Gives Me a Reason To Buy Fuel Wheels

Posted by Bobby Shell on 28th Apr 2016

Since the tender age of 16, all those years ago, 34 to be exact, I have owned a number of cars. I started this long list of cars with the purchase of a 1972 Chevy Nova, at the fair price of $600. I loved that Nova, so much so that I would wind up owning four of them over the course of my life. I was really into the muscles cars back then.

After my first Nova, I would go on to own a Dodge Dart, Gran Torino and Chevy Chevelle. Then, I had to make changes in the types of cars I was buying. This change transpired thanks to the birth of my daughter. So I bid farewell to the tough looking, quick muscle cars and began investing in cars with four doors as they were much easier to put kids in and take kids out.

Even after my kids grew up and moved out, for some reason I still drove around in four-door sedans, the latest being my Hyundai Elantra. But that will soon change because, after 34 years of car ownership, I want a truck.

That’s right, I want a truck.

I don’t want a truck for the reasons you might think, I already went through my mid-life crisis and I look tough enough driving an Elantra. I want a truck because, at this point in my life, it just makes sense.

For example, I am tired of having to call a friend or family member with a truck when I need to take some stuff to the landfill, need a piece of furniture moved or to haul away tree branches I just trimmed. I want the opportunity to load up my own truck and take care of my own issues.

I want to own a truck because I have spent a lot of time on this website looking at Fuel wheels, Grid wheels, Kraze wheels and American Racing rims and I gotta admit, I really like what I see. I have seen the light and now fully realize that a great set of truck wheels really makes a huge difference in how a truck looks and I want in on that action. Because really, you might as well look good while you take those tree branches to the landfill.

I want a truck because since the kids have flown the coop, my wife and I have the time to do all those things we enjoy. For example, we like to shop the flea markets, because this is what people our age are supposed to do. Now, say we find an armoire at a really great price; well, we can’t fit it into the Elantra, so once again I have to call a friend or family member with a truck to help us out. No fun. But with a truck, we simply load it up and take it home.

My wife and I are also avid hikers and bikers, bicycle riders that is, the Harley-Davidsons come later in life. Anyway, many of the trails we hit are rather difficult to access in an Elantra. In addition, the bike rack on the car is more of a pain than anything else, a truck would make things so much easier.

So there you have it, the reasons why I feel it is time for me to dump the Elantra in favor of a truck. Just not quite sure what kind of truck to get. Can you help?
