Truck Accessories and Truck Wheels

20th Jul 2017

A pickup truck is just not complete without a few must-have accessories. If you have a truck, it is likely that you have already added some truck accessories, like a smartphone holder or custom running boards. But it isn't likely that your truck is outfitted with a truck bed extender or a back-up alarm. You know, the accessories you really need.

Look, not only are truck accessories utilitarian, just think how much more stuff you can fit in your truck bed with an extender, but truck accessories also set your truck apart from others. They give you a unique ride. Not only that, there are so many cool accessories out there shopping for them is like sending a kid to a candy shop.

Now, seasoned truck owners are probably in the know when it comes to truck accessories and are familiar with what is available. But newbies are probably reading this post and the only accessories that are coming to mind are mud flaps with naked silhouette woman, chrome trailer hitches and cool fog lights. That’s OK, you have to start somewhere.

For those of you who are new in truck ownership, go ahead and buy your mud flaps, fog lights and trailer hitches, then read the rest of this post to see the accessories you should really be checking out.

Custom Wheels

You have had your truck for three months and you are still riding around on stock wheels? Shame on you.

Swapping out the wheels on your truck is the fastest and easiest way to gain a significant custom look. And when you go big, the transformation is breathtaking.

But there is a problem; there are so many truck wheels on the market that narrowing down your choices to one is a task to be sure. You have top sellers like Fuel wheels, Hostile wheels and Monster wheels and lesser known brands like Dip wheels, Foose wheels and Focal wheels. Whichever brand and style you choose, they will be a serious upgrade from whatever you have on your truck right now.

Mud Flaps

Mud flaps and mud guards aren't just for being cool and displaying a naked lady or cartoon character, they also protect the vehicles behind you or whatever you are towing from gravel. Rocks and whatever else gets thrown up by your Nitto Ridge Grappler tires.

So when you slap on a set of these bad boys on your truck, you are doing everyone a favor by giving them a cheap form of entertainment and protecting their car.

Tailgate Protector

The tailgate on your truck withstands a lot of abuse as heavy objects are dragged across it, cargo rattles around when you drive and bounces off it and your barbecue grill heats it up to damaging temperatures when you are tailgating.

A good tailgate protector covers both the load surface and the top of your tailgate so you can rest easy when the party is at the back of your truck.

Custom Floor Mats

With today’s truck interiors as luxurious as Lexus or BMWs, with upscale plush carpeting and heated leather bucket seats, protecting the inside of your truck is just as important as protecting the outside. Floor mats are an inexpensive and easy solution to a muddy carpet.

Winch

A cable winch is a must-have for anyone who regularly hauls heavy objects around in their truck. It also comes in very handy should you come across a poor car owner stuck in a ditch after sliding off the road in a snowstorm.

Backseat DVD Player

If you are embarking on a long road trip with the family, a DVD player is an absolute must. Just let your kids watch their favorite movies and they will settle in for the journey.

Back-Up Camera

If you have kids, you need to know where they are at all times, especially when backing up your truck. A back-up camera is a must for safety-minded families who have younger kids.

Modern back-up cameras are easy to install and will give you much-needed peace of mind.

Music Player or XM Radio

You can take that road trip with just that stock radio, but you will be stuck with listening to 1980s hair bands on classic rock stations, country music or NPR. A music player or satellite radio means you can listen to what you want, when you want to. This means the entire family gets to hear Ed Sheeran for 600 miles.
