Hop in Your Truck, Squeal Your Fuel Wheels and Head Out

13th Mar 2017

We recently posted an article about the benefits of taking a road trip. Road trips are great because they enable you to meet new people, spent quality time with family and friends and create memories that will not soon be forgotten.

Just as awesome as a road trip with family or friends is a solo road trip. Because there are times when you want to be alone with your thoughts. When you are stressed out about a work situation, having relationship issues or just need to get away for a little bit, hop in your truck, squeal your Fuel wheels and head off in some random direction for a road trip.

Now, your solo road trip can be something that you plan or it can be spontaneous. Just make sure that you let people know what you are doing before you go as not to upset anyone.

The wonderful thing about trucks, well, any vehicle for that matter, is that they allow you to set off for somewhere you want to go in no particular hurry. They enable you to find that diversion you are looking for, the one you need right now. But best of all, your truck enables you to explore, you are Lewis and your truck is Clark, so to speak.

If you own a set of keys, you can buckle up, take off, and solve your problems most anytime you feel like it. Your truck becomes your therapist and a great song playlist are words you need to hear.

Spending Time Alone is Fun

Even if you aren't trying to escape the realities of life or need time away from somebody, being alone sometimes is pretty cool. When you are by yourself, you can listen to the music you want to listen to, at the volume you desire.

A solo road trip gives you time to crank out your favorite jams and be with your thoughts. It is definitely good for your spirits.

Good Ideas

A long drive all by yourself is the perfect way to solve the problems that plague you. It is well known that when writers get writer’s block, they hop in their vehicles and take a solo road trip.

Well, at least that's what we hear. Nevertheless, spending time around people when you are trying to come up with an answer to a problem in a roomful of people can be very counterproductive.

Clear Your Mind

Just as you use a solo road trip to come up with great ideas, you can also clear your mind. A solo road trip is a time you can be alone, focus on your driving and just let your mind wonder. It is an opportunity to cleanse you mind the negativity in your life, forget the things you want to forget, even if for just awhile.

Improve Relationships

When you are out on the road all alone, it gives you the opportunity to gain a better understanding of yourself. It can be an awaking, and you may even have an illuminating discovery about yourself, an epiphany if you will.

A solo road may lead to better decisions on your part, perhaps a better understanding of a loved one. Driving alone gives you the chance to expand your mind and reflect on choices.

Cure Boredom

There are days when you get up and wonder what you want to do. Television is a waste of time, there is nobody you want to see and the thought of just lounging around the house irritates you. Well, then pack a few items and spend the day on the road. It really doesn't matter the destination, it’s the part in between point A and point B that is most important.
